My team was asked to find a way to reduce the affects of the global food waste crisis, and our solution was the Smart Cart. Using design research tools such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, and InVision, we were able to get feedback from a real audience. This feedback paved the way for the remainder of the project, all the way up through conceptualization.
Smart Cart is a grocery cart experience that provides the user with details of their shopping trips in real-time while they travel through the store. The goal of the project was to grow the customer's awareness of certain shopping habits that my team determined to be direct causes to food waste - including how much they spend, expiration dates at a glance, and a purchase history from previous trips.
